Best Kids Guitar Options

Musical learning is an important part of any child’s education. A high quality kids guitar can help foster a child’s love for music through fun, creative play. Music is an intrinsic part of all of our lives, and learning to play an instrument allows children a greater understanding of the music that surrounds us. Research has shown that playing a musical instrument has many benefits far beyond just music. Children that learn to play an instrument have greater memory capacity and playing the guitar encourages perseverance, coordination, math skills, reading skills, and listening skills. Furthermore, musical expression fosters a sense of achievement and reduces stress.

When choosing a kids guitar, there are a few important considerations. First, the instrument should be age appropriate. Toddlers and younger children may benefit from a durable toy while older children may be ready for a smaller version of an actual instrument. Depending on your child’s size and aptitude, a full sized beginner guitar may be appropriate. At the beginning stages quality may not be extremely important, as long as the child is learning and having fun. When purchasing a beginner instrument, I recommend buying a kit that has everything needed to start your child on the path to making music.
