Review Policy:

We provide roundup reviews of products that we think our readers might enjoy or need.  This always involves researching the products on the market and speaking with parents and kids that are in the target age group for the toy or game.  All of our writers are told to imagine that they are researching products for a close friend or family member – and keep that thought in mind throughout the process.

We generally look for writers that are experts with the products being reviewed. This may mean using them daily in their profession, or using them with their children on a regular basis. If one of our staff writers has experience, we will sometimes allow another writer to do the initial work and have the staff expert critique and edit the final work.

Our writers are tasked with coming up with objective product characteristics for the entire category – and then judge the individual products on how they stack up versus one another.  Writers are only allowed to use price for purposes of relative value – we do not allow our writers to know the amount of how much of a commission Fractus Learning makes off any particular product.  Their job is to help you, the reader, pick the best product for your needs.

As much as is fiscally feasible, we will try to acquire actual physical products to give our hands-on experience to our readers.  Sometimes these products are provided to us at no cost – though we have moved away from this since 2021.  If that is the case, it will be mentioned in the review.   If we purchase the item ourselves to review, we will mention it in the review.

On rare occasions, a company will want to sponsor a review for various advertising purposes.  When this is the case, we clearly mark the review as a sponsored post.  We are upfront with these companies that we give our reviewers free-reign and they may receive a poor review if their product isn’t good.   We also require both a free product and payment up-front before beginning.  Since this takes away any leverage a company may have over us (and they know it) we have no incentive to provide you with anything other than our honest opinions.

This policy has led to us having no sponsored reviews since 2017.

Affiliate Disclaimer:

We here at Fractus Learning wish to be as transparent as possible. Fractus Learning will receive a small commission (at no cost to you) for purchases by users following our links. These payments (along with advertising) allow us to continue to provide high-quality free content to you, our readers.  We will post a small disclaimer on each page where we may generate a commission to give you a heads up.  It will read something like the following:

Fractus Learning is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. We also participate in other affiliate programs (such as WalMart) where we earn a fee when you purchase a product through our links. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Walmart and the Walmart logo are trademarks of Walmart, Inc. or its affiliates.

To be clear, we only recommend products to you that we would recommend to our family and friends – but in case you think the small payments influence our decisions, we want you to know.
