On September 10, 1984, the animated Television series Voltron captivated kids’ imaginations in the US. In 2015 Voltron: Defender of the Universe movie was released by DreamWorks. The Voltron series was adapted from two different Japanese anime, Beast King GoLion (Lion Force Voltron first season) and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV (Vehicle Team Voltron second season consisting of a Voltron force of 15 members). GoLion means five lions, which combine into the super robotic universe defender Voltron.
King Alfus from the planet Arus had created the lion force Voltron, but the evil Haggar had divided the robot into five separate lions. Five peacekeeping space pilots (Keith, Lance, Hunk, Pidge, and Sven) searched and found the five robot lions. The legendary Voltron was reawakened (in Voltron III) to protect the planet Arus against King Zarkon from Doom, the witch Haggar and the robeasts army.
